1. Adam (آدم)

  • First human and first prophet created by Allah
  • Father of humanity who was created in Paradise
  • Descended to Earth after being tempted by Satan
  • Quranic Verse: "And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred." (Surah Taha, 20:121)

2. Sheeth (Seth) (شيث)

  • Son of Prophet Adam, mentioned in Islamic traditions
  • Considered a prophet and righteous successor to Adam
  • Continued his father's message of monotheism
  • Not directly named in the Quran, but recognized in Islamic scholarly traditions

3. Idris (إدريس)

  • Identified by many scholars as Enoch in biblical tradition
  • Known for his wisdom and patience
  • Elevated to a high spiritual status by Allah
  • Quranic Verse: "And mention in the Book, Idris. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet." (Surah Maryam, 19:56)

4. Nuh - Noah (نوح)

  • Sent to his people to warn them about polytheism
  • Built the Ark to save believers during the great flood
  • Preached to his people for 950 years
  • Quranic Verse: "Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], 'Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.'" (Surah Nuh, 71:1)

5. Hud (هود)

  • Sent to the people of 'Ad in Arabia
  • Warned his tribe against idol worship
  • His people were destroyed by a violent wind for their disbelief
  • Quranic Verse: "And to 'Ad [We sent] their brother Hud..." (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:65)

6. Salih (صالح)

  • Sent to the people of Thamud
  • Challenged his people by bringing a miraculous she-camel
  • His people were destroyed for harming the she-camel
  • Quranic Verse: "And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih..." (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:73)

7. Ibrahim - Abraham (إبراهيم)

  • Considered the patriarch of monotheism
  • Father of Ishmael and Isaac
  • Rebuilt the Kaaba with his son Ishmael
  • Quranic Verse: "Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah..." (Surah An-Nahl, 16:120)

8. Lut - Lot (لوط)

  • Nephew of Prophet Abraham
  • Sent to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah
  • His people were destroyed for their immoral practices
  • Quranic Verse: "And Lot, [We] gave him judgement and knowledge..." (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:74)

9. Ismaeel - Ishmael (إسماعيل)

  • Son of Prophet Abraham and Hagar
  • Helped his father build the Kaaba
  • Ancestor of the Arab people
  • Quranic Verse: "And mention in the Book, Ishmael..." (Surah Maryam, 19:54)

10. Ishaaq - Isaac (إسحاق)

  • Son of Prophet Abraham and Sarah
  • Brother of Ishmael
  • Father of Jacob
  • Quranic Verse: "And We gave him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture..." (Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:27)

11. Yaqoub - Jacob (يعقوب)

  • Also known as Israel
  • Father of twelve sons who became the twelve tribes
  • Grandson of Abraham
  • Quranic Verse: "And We gave him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture..." (Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:27)

12. Yusuf - Joseph (يوسف)

  • Son of Prophet Jacob
  • Known for his remarkable story of patience and forgiveness
  • Became a high-ranking official in Egypt
  • Quranic Verse: "Certainly were there in Joseph and his brothers signs for those who ask." (Surah Yusuf, 12:7)

13. Musa - Moses (موسى)

  • Sent to Pharaoh and the Children of Israel
  • Received the Torah at Mount Sinai
  • Performed numerous miracles, including parting the Red Sea
  • Quranic Verse: "And We inspired to Moses, 'Travel by night with My servants and strike a dry path for them through the sea...'" (Surah Taha, 20:77)

14. Shu'ayb (شُعيب)

  • Sent to the people of Midian, he called for justice, fair trade, and worship of Allah alone.
  • He warned them about their dishonest practices in trade.
  • Quranic Verse: “And to Midian [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said, 'O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him.'” (Quran 7:85)

15. Dhulkifl (ذو الكفل)

  • Possibly identified with Ezekiel, known for his righteousness and devotion to Allah.
  • He is regarded as a prophet who fulfilled his duties with patience and steadfastness.
  • He is regarded as a prophet who fulfilled his duties with patience and steadfastness.

16. Haroun - Aaron (هارون)

  • Brother of Moses
  • Assisted Moses in his mission
  • Helped lead the Children of Israel
  • Quranic Verse: "And We gave him Aaron his brother, a prophet from Us as an assistant." (Surah Al-Furqan, 25:35)

17. Dawood - David (داوود)

  • Defeated Goliath and became a king
  • Received the Psalms (Zabur)
  • Known for his wisdom and just rule
  • Quranic Verse: "And David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom..." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:251)

18. Suleiman - Solomon (سليمان)

  • Son of David
  • Known for his immense wisdom and ability to communicate with animals
  • Ruled a vast kingdom with miraculous powers
  • Quranic Verse: "And We gave Solomon understanding of it. And to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge." (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:79)

19. Ilyas - Elijah (إلياس)

  • Sent to a people who worshipped Baal
  • Challenged the false gods of his time
  • Emphasized the worship of the one true God
  • Quranic Verse: "And Elijah was among the messengers." (Surah As-Saffat, 37:123)

20. Elyasa - Elisha (اليسع)

  • Succeeded Elijah in prophethood
  • Continued the mission of calling people to monotheism
  • Performed numerous miracles
  • Mentioned briefly in the Quran

21. Yunus - Jonah (يونس)

  • Also known as the "Prophet of the Whale"
  • Temporarily abandoned his mission and was swallowed by a whale
  • Repented and was saved by Allah
  • Quranic Verse: "And [mention] Jonah, when he went off in anger and thought We would not decree [anything] against him..." (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:87)

22. Ayoub - Job (أيوب)

  • Known for his remarkable patience during immense suffering
  • Tested by Allah through loss of family, health, and wealth
  • Remained steadfast in his faith
  • Quranic Verse: "And [remember] Job, when he called to his Lord, 'Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.'" (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:83)

23. Zachariah - Zakri (زكريا)

  • Father of John the Baptist
  • Prayed for a child in his old age
  • Remained devoted to Allah despite challenges
  • Quranic Verse: "There at the place of worship, Zachariah called upon his Lord..." (Surah Al-Imran, 3:39)

24. Yahiya - John the Baptist (يحيى)

  • Son of Zachariah
  • Cousin and contemporary of Jesus
  • Known for his righteousness and wisdom
  • Quranic Verse: "...And We gave him wisdom while he was still a boy." (Surah Maryam, 19:12)

25. Isa - Jesus (عيسى)

  • Born miraculously to Mary
  • Performed numerous miracles
  • Prophesied the coming of Muhammad
  • Quranic Verse: "...The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah..." (Surah An-Nisa, 4:171)

26. Muhammad (محمد)

  • Final prophet in Islamic tradition
  • Received the complete and final revelation (Quran)
  • Brought the message of Islam to all of humanity
  • Quranic Verse: "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets..." (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:40)

This list includes the 25 major prophets named in the Quran. Islamic tradition acknowledges many unnamed prophets, as Allah states in the Quran, "And, indeed We have sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW); of some of them We have related to you their story and of some We have not related to you their story, and it was not given to any Messenger that he should bring a sign except by the Leave of Allah. So, when comes the Commandment of Allah, the matter will be decided with truth, and the followers of falsehood will then be lost." [Quran 40:78).
