I am excited to announce the official launch of Assiddiq Online School, a project that has been in the works for quite some time. This school is designed to provide a comprehensive Islamic education, offering courses in Akeedah (faith/creed), Fiqh (jurisprudence), Hadith, Islamic Etiquette, Islamic Morals, Tafsir, and other essential subjects. In sha’a Allah, more content will be added soon.
The Islamic Center in Stillwater has always placed great emphasis on nurturing the children of its Muslim community. From its early days, the ICS has been committed to fostering the education of young Muslims, establishing Assiddiq Islamic School as a cornerstone of this mission. Over the years, many students have graduated from Assiddiq Islamic School, earning certificates in Quran and Hadith, and have gone on to become well-versed in Islamic teachings.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
It is with deep sorrow that I share the tragic news of the passing of a cousin of brother Mohamed Abo-Basha’s wife, a 30-year-old son of Dr. Zahid’s sister. He tragically left this temporary dunya yesterday following a car accident on the road between Stillwater and Oklahoma City. The accident occurred when he returned home after completing his final academic exam at OSU.
May Allah (SWT) shower him in His boundless forgiveness and mercy, and may He grant his family, including his grieving wife and their newborn daughter, strength, patience, and solace during this profoundly difficult time. We find comfort in knowing that he is now in a better place, Jannat al-Firdaws, where we all hope to reunite with our loved ones and dwell together for eternity, in shaa Allah.
Our heartfelt prayers and condolences are with his family. May Allah ease their pain and reward their perseverance during this trial.
This life is a fleeting journey, a temporary abode where every action we take is recorded in our personal book of deeds. One day, we shall stand before Allah (SWT) and read this book, where nothing will be omitted—no word, deed, or intention, whether good or bad. The Quran reminds us: “And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, ‘Woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it? ’” [Quran 18:49]. Let us strive to fill our records with actions that bring us closer to Allah and prepare us for eternal life.
OSU Students visit the Islamic Center in Stillwater
On Wednesday, Nov 6th, 2024, the Islamic Center in Stillwater welcomed 189 OSU students from the “World Religions” class, taught by Mr. Adam Sultani and Dr. Armstrong. The visit was, as always, enjoyable, educational, and designed to provide students with a clear and informed perspective on Islam and the Muslim community.
The visit was a resounding success. Students actively engaged in the experience, asking as many questions as time allowed. At the end of their visit, they enjoyed pizza and baklava, and many were eager to tour the center and explore its facilities.
As usual, Dr. Ahmad Abo Basha was the driving force behind the organization of this event and the meticulous preparations that made it a success. I had the pleasure of assisting in these preparations, though it was Dr. Ahmad who made the special effort to travel to Tulsa (80 miles from Stillwater) to bring back the baklava for everyone to enjoy.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of the mother of our sister, Ra’eda Awad (Umm Mujahid), and the aunt of our brother, Ibrahim Awad (Abu Mujahid), in Gaza, Palestine.
We ask Almighty Allah to shower her with His infinite mercy and grant her entry into Jannah (Paradise). May Allah also provide patience and strength to the family of Abu Mujahid during this difficult time.
InshaAllah, brother Ibrahim and sister Ra’eda will be at the masjid after Maghrib prayer on Friday to receive condolences.
Additionally, Salat al-Gha’ib (the absentee funeral prayer) will be held after the Friday prayer, inshaAllah.

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Brother Saiful Tareq’s mother in Bangladesh.
Brother Saiful has traveled back to Bangladesh to attend his mother’s funeral and receive his family’s condolences.
May Allah grant Brother Saiful Tareq’s mother His mercy and shower her with His blessings. Allahumma Ameen.
In shaa Allah, we will have an absentee prayer for the deceased tonight after the Ishaa prayer.
Brother Tauseef’s body was released today from the Medical Examiner’s Office in OKC. A funeral home in Dallas was called to transport the body to Dallas. Alhamdulillah, the funeral home, named “Rahma,” assured us that all procedures and official papers, including contacting the Pakistani embassy, will be taken care of.
We expect the body to reach Karachi and be buried by Friday, in shaa Allah. May Allah have mercy on Brother Tauseef and shower his family with mercy and tranquility during this difficult time. Brother Tauseef was an excellent student who had already published research papers while in his third year of his Ph.D.
Death carries a lesson, and as we all pray for Allah’s mercy for Tauseef, we also need to remind ourselves that we may leave this life at any time and should always be ready for this journey.
Finally, the Islamic Center in Stillwater is ready to offer counseling services for those who may need to talk about Tauseef or feel they need help overcoming the situation.
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (To Allah we belong and to Him we return). It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of our brother, Tauseef Ismail. Brother Tauseef was a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Oklahoma State University. Brother Tauseef Ismail was 32 years old.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized. Information will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
May Allah grant Brother Tauseef Ismail eternal peace and provide strength to his family during this difficult time.
Congratulations to Halle Erin Giles and Osaid Alkhamaiseh. They tied the knot and are having their religious celebration at the Islamic Center in Stillwater.
Congratulations again. Please join us after Asr prayer to pat them good wishes for their new life in shaa Allah.
Wassalamu Alaykum.
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (To Allah we belong and to Him we return). It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Dr. Mohammad Abdel Salam.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized. Arrangements to move the body to OKC Islamic Center and the Mercy cemetery are in the procession. Information will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

عن أبي قتادة رضي اللَّه عنه ، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: صيام يوم عاشوراء، أحتسب على اللَّه أن يكفر السنة التي قبله
Narrated by Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Fasting on the day of Ashura, I hope from Allah, will expiate for the sins of the previous year.”
If you plan to attend any or both dinners for Ashura’s fasting days (Monday and Tuesday), kindly register here so we can have an accurate headcount. Just so you know, a $3.00 fee is required per person per day (or $5.00 for both days) to cover labor costs. This fee is to be paid once for both days.
Please click here to register. (you shall be taken to a Google Form.)
The prayer hall has been vacuumed, cleaned, shampooed, and rearranged. Who else could have done this but the unsung hero of the house of Allah, Brother Suleiman Madalla?
Brother Suleiman, you know how much I respect and love you, and above all, how envious I am of you 🙂
We cannot do without you, brother. We are fortunate to have you.
NOTICE:
Br. Suleiman insisted I take the pictures with him while Br. Ahmadullahi takes the pictures. It is important to note that I have played NO ROLE in cleaning neither the prayer hall nor the library or any part of the second floor.
I would like to thank the library group for the tremendous work they have done today.
The group worked diligently to keep the second floor cleaner than I had seen before, and they took care of the library, which had been in poor condition lately.
The team was led by Brother Saad Muhuddine and others (Zahid, Thousaif (what a name, Wallahi I am jealous of the name!) Ahmad Baha, and AhmadUllah). I am deeply grateful for their hard work. As I mentioned to them, I wouldn’t have achieved this task if I had formed the group and tackled it myself.
Thank you all.
Alhamdulillah, in a joyful and pleasant atmosphere that our community enjoys these days, May Allah bless us with more of these days extending their joyful reasons, Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha presented Dr. Hasan Atiya, the Sunday Islamic School Director, with a token of appreciation for his and his family’s outstanding and remarkable contributions.

Alhamdulillah, the sprinklers are up and running, though they still require some adjustments. Once these are completed, we can move forward with the next steps. Taking care of the house of Allah and the Stillwater Embassy of Islam is considered an act of worship and is among the best practical deeds to show our gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings

Alhamdulillah. Eid Activities were concluded today with the children enjoying themselves to the max.
As usual, Pizza, ice creams, and refreshments were available to everyone. We also had visitors who came to enjoy our celebrations.
Stay tuned for more surprises 🙂

Prayers for him for mercy and forgiveness.
(Details are to be finalized)
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (To Allah we belong and to Him we return).
It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Dr. Mohammad Abdel Salam’s son, Muntasir, who passed away in a hospital in Tulsa. Muntasir was transferred to Tulsa from The Stillwater Medical Center due to some health issues.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized. It is not known at this time whether the funeral will be held in Oklahoma City or Tulsa. This information will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
May Allah grant Muntasir eternal peace and provide strength to his family during this difficult time.
Wassalamu Alaykum.
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatul’lahi Wabarakatuh,
If you plan to offer Udhiyah this Eid, please remember that the last day you can cut your hair and nails is Thursday, June 6, before Maghrib.
It is Sunnah not to cut your hair or nails (just like pilgrims) if you intend to offer Udhiyah. After your Udhiyah is slaughtered, you may then cut your hair and nails at any time.
Jazakumu Allahu Khairan.
Continuing his efforts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abo Basha honored several members of the ICS, along with sponsors and members of the Board of Trustees, by presenting them with honorary plaques.
A memorable remark reflecting his impactful work was: “Oh Dr. Abo Basha, you have set a high bar for those who follow in your footsteps.”
Verbatim message from Dr. Ahmed Abo Bashaa; “Same tradition of recognizing those who have served the community, while we’re three, or after they left, for they continue doing so ONLY for the sake of Allah. Photos were taken at King Saud University, Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.”

Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha, during his visit to Egypt, his home country, took the opportunity to meet with the group constituting the Board of Trustees, including the donors and their representatives. As always, the Islamic Center of Stillwater (ICS) remains at the forefront of his interests. The donors expressed their concerns regarding certain managerial issues at the center. Their discussions culminated in the formulation of steps to ensure the ICS’s independence from the influence of any religious and political groups. As a non-profit organization, the ICS must not engage in political activities.
Here is the message from Dr. Abo Basha: “Continuing the discussions about the current affairs of the Islamic Center of Stillwater (ICS), another sincere but concerned group arrived in Riyadh today, Saturday, June 1st, 2024, from neighboring Gulf countries. Their goal is to ensure the stability of the ICS so it can continue serving the diverse Muslim community, under the close supervision of the ICS Board of Trustees, including representatives of the donors, both local and abroad.
May Allah (SWT) guide and protect the ICS.
Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha, during his visit to Egypt, his home country, took the opportunity to meet with the group constituting the Board of Trustees, including the donors and their representatives in Jeddah. He also met with some of Oklahoma State Alumni. Many of the faces are well-known to us here in Stillwater, and their presence helped flourish the ICS and driven its activities. Other members of the BoT attended both the meetings if Jeddah and Riyadh to show how much concerned they all are.
As always, the Islamic Center of Stillwater (ICS) remains at the forefront of his interests. In the meeting, they expressed their concerns regarding certain managerial issues at the center. Their discussions culminated in the formulation of steps to ensure the ICS’s independence from the influence of any religious and political groups. Also they wanted to make sure, people with agendas (personal or organisational) are to be cast away. Others with ties to non-Muslim organisations are to be cautiously dealt with.
As a non-profit organization, the Islamic Center must not engage in political activities whatsoever. The assets must not be used to advocate for a certain country or political views.
The invitation to the meeting:

Dr. Ali’s wife graciously prepared the dinner, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food.

Finally, after many weeks and months, we’ve addressed the landscaping issue that has been plaguing the ISS. We successfully eradicated the persistent weed problem that had been a major concern.
With the grace of God, Dr. Ahmed Abo Basha managed to orchestrate this landscaping project alongside planning the visits of OSU students to the ISS. His ability to juggle these responsibilities was impressive, catching even me by surprise. While I typically participate in such decisions, Dr. Ahmed anticipated my response and proceeded without my input! Next time, I’ll ensure I’m more assertive in expressing that others should stop talking and try to do instead.
May Allah (SWT) reward Dr. Abo Basha abundantly for his dedicated efforts.
On April 24, 2024, Mr. Adam Sultani and his students visited the ISS as part of their coursework. The students toured the facility and then gathered at the prayer hall to ask questions about Islam and Muslims.
Pizza, baklava, and water were offered, and all students expressed their happiness in being at “a mosque.” For many of them, this was their first time visiting one.
As usual, Dr. Ahmad Abo Basha was the driving force behind this activity, ensuring that all visits went smoothly. Unfortunately, I was only able to accommodate three classes!
Please check the pictures and the video below.
